Chris Scotti is a retired American soccer midfielder player who played professionally from 1993-2001. He scored 210 goals and recorded 117 assists in his 271-game career in professional soccer.
Chris played NCAA Division I soccer for Oregon State University from 1989-1992. He was a unanimous 3-time All-Northwest Collegiate Soccer Conference 1st Team selection. In his senior year, he was the “Far West Classic Invitational Tournament’s Most Valuable Player” and was selected to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation 1st Team and led the league in assists.
He was the unanimous choice for the Oregon State University Beaver Player of the Year, along with being selected by the Umbro National Soccer Coaches Association of America to the All-Far West Region 1st Team.
He is currently OSU’s 2nd all-time career leader in assists with 17 to his name.
He began his professional career by signing his first professional contract during the 1993 season for the Portland Pride. In the 1994 season of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) he set a record 7 goals in one game and was selected as the league’s Player of the Month and also named the team’s most valuable player.
In the next two seasons (1995 and 1996) he was the team’s goal-scoring leader and was selected to the CISL West All-Star 2nd Team in 1996. He finished as the team’s most valuable player.
Chris suffered an ACL tear and played in the last three games of the 1997 season. He finished the CISL in 9th place on the all-time goal-scoring list.
Between 1997-1999, Chris played in the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) for 3 years, scoring over 70 goals for Tampa Bay Terror, Baltimore Blast, and Fort Lauderdale Thundercats. In 2000, he joined the Arizona Thunder leading the team in goals with 14 of his own.
In his final indoor season in 2001, he was the #1 selection overall in the dispersal draft for the San Diego Sockers and would finish as runner up in the WISL final championship of that year.
